Dr Badham joined Milford on Sea Medical Centre adjacent to the War Memorial Hospital based in temporary accommodation expecting to move into a bespoke Medical Centre within 5 years, 20 odd years later his Porta Cabins were removed from site and he moved into a superb new medical facility directly linked to the local community Hospital providing a focused and dedicated service to the local Patients. New Forest planners were very supportive but somewhat difficult as one has come to expect in respect of certain design expectations.
Our goal was to provide a high quality, low maintenance, highly energy efficient property in a style that complimented the existing building that in time it would mellow and not date as in terms of design style.
The site was exceptionally tight to construct this building but through the skill set of the Architect and Construction team this was achieved without compromising the use of the existing building.
Dr Badham has now retired, later than he had anticipated as he enjoyed working from this new building and did not want to leave too soon after he had taken occupation.
How We Got There
Testimonials
“To end my working days in such a place considering that 31 years ago when I started we worked from two very small rooms. It’s been magnificent.”
